… from the launch!

Three months after launch…

FELA got a Grammy nomination.
I’m not saying our graphic novel made that happen…
I’m just saying… you know what I mean?? 😏

In our own little way, I think we contributed to the legacy. We made a bit of history that day.

Big love to everyone who’s been reading, sharing, hyping, and keeping the story alive.

Art as resistance

It all begins with an idea.

It was a cold night on a random Thursday, and honestly, it would’ve been very easy for folks to stay home and binge on some Netfiix show. But the community showed up to the Art as Resistance event and turned it into something unforgettable.

We packed out A Different Booklist Bookstore for a night of art, laughter, real talk, and big Fela celebrations. It was deep. It was fun. And somehow, nobody cried.

Big thanks to Sahra Soudi, who dropped real knowledge about how art can challenge power. To Dalton Higgins, who moderated the night with sharp questions. To Conor McCreery, my co-creator and brother, who flew in from France just to rep the book and this moment. And to Tara Paterson, who captured it all in a beautiful video.

Most importantly, thank you to everyone who came through, asked questions, bought books, and brought the vibes. You made the night what it was.

We want to do more of these in other neighborhoods, other cities.
So if you’re down:

📚 Ask your local library or bookstore to stock the book.
🎤 And if you want an Art As Resistance event where you are, let’s connect.

As always, if you haven’t picked up FELA: Music Is the Weapon yet:
